I'm the owner and provider of Cuddle Time Preschool, and have been supporting families since the birth of our third child over 30 years ago.
I was born and raised in the Portland area. My husband Roger and I have been married for 38 years, and have raised our four children in the area.
I find myself inspired by the opportunity to connect with families and support them through their parenting journey. I've volunteered for mentoring programs, advisory boards, and child care support groups. I love supporting and being inspired by others who do amazing work with children and families.
I graduated in 2015 with a AA degree in ECE/Early Childhood Education & Family Studies from Clackamas Community College, and am currently a 10 on ORO/Oregon Registry. I believe in the importance of lifelong education, and I am passionate about "paying forward" all the help and support I've received over the years.
Over 30 years ago, my family and I started a journey into early childhood education when I opened Cuddle Time. Over the years, it has evolved into the program you see today. I've been fortunate to have my program become involved in exciting professional growth opportunities throughout the years, such as the Oregon Program of Quality pilot project and the field test of the Quality Rating Improvement System.
In my spare time, I love race walking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
I attended Portland State University and obtained a B.S. in Child & Family Studies and am currently a step 10 on the Oregon Registry/ORO. I began my journey at Cuddle Time Preschool back in October of 2013 and have continued to be a life-long learner. I am amazed every day that such little people have such big personalities!
I’ve been a resident of Portland for almost 14 years now. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Growing up on the East Coast turned me into the huge sports fan that I am today! Go E-A-G-L-E-S!
Being the oldest of 7 children, Kala was born and raised in Oregon and lives with her husband in the Oregon City area. Family is deeply important to her and caring for children was a very natural transition when she starting working outside the home. Kala has worked with her church for several years caring for children birth - Kindergarten.
Working at Cuddle Time since January 2018, Kala is now known as a baby whisperer and a welcome asset to the team.
