The Teachers

This November 2019 will mark thirty three (33) years in family child care. I started when my third child was born and it was only to ease the financial burden of our family.

Over the years I have been fortunate to be involved in provider support organization, mentoring organizations, training cohorts, union & advisory boards and state commissions. All of these groups I have learned from and appreciate the opportunity to be involved. I truly believe providers need to be involved in organizations and discuss our challenges and needs. There is just not enough money coming to early childhood to make decisions without checking with providers first.

It is amazing how fast the time has gone, but I wouldn't change one memory. Having been married now 39 years and raised four wonderful children, I am truly blessed. My husband Roger & I will become first-time grandparents this coming November 2019 and we couldn’t be happier. Life is good.
